Lee + White Brewery District

Lee + White — the warehouse-conversion brewery district on the southwest edge of Adair Park: Monday Night Brewing Garage, Wild Heaven West End, Hop City Beer, ASW Distillery, Boggs Social. The way an industrial backlot became a neighborhood third-place in 2018-2020. Bo on a Saturday afternoon with a flight of IPAs.

Lyrics

[Intro]
Saturday. Three P.M.
That June sun just sitting on the asphalt.
Eighty-eight degrees on the phone but it feels like home.
Yeah. This is the place.

[Verse 1]
Used to be just warehouses, right?
Along the rail line. You can still see the spurs
cracking through the pavement by Murphy Avenue.
Now this concrete loading dock...
...
is the best patio in southwest Atlanta.
Monday Night Garage kicked it all off.
Right here. 2017.
Big steel fermentation tanks gleaming through the bay doors.

[Chorus]
Yeah, gimme that flight paddle.
Four little glasses, four different IPAs.
This is the spot. Lee and White.
Used to be where things got shipped out.
Now it's where we all ship in.
For the afternoon.
For the afternoon.

[Verse 2]
Then Wild Heaven opened up in 2018.
ASW Distillery with the good stuff.
Hop City stacked their shelves high in 2019.
Now there's a line for a smash burger from that food truck over there.
You smell that?
It's roasted malt and spent grain
fighting with the diesel from the MARTA yard.
I kinda like it.

[Bridge]
It's funny, man.
Over at the Monday Night Garage, there's that little brick building.
The old rail scale house, from the 1940s.
Used to weigh the freight cars coming through.
There's no sign on it. They just use it for storage.
I wonder who worked that scale.
Wonder what he'd think of a seven-point-five percent Hazy IPA.

[Chorus]
Yeah, gimme that flight paddle.
Four little glasses, four different IPAs.
This is the spot. Lee and White.
Used to be where things got shipped out.
Now it's where we all ship in.
For the afternoon.
For the afternoon.

[Outro]
Sun's getting a little lower.
This last one's a West Coast.
Good and bitter.
See you next week.
Same dock.
Same sun.
