Westside Provisions District
The Westside Provisions District — the converted warehouse complex along Howell Mill Rd, anchored by Bacchanalia, Star Provisions, JCT Kitchen, with shops + restaurants stitched in. The flagship of the West Midtown food destination. Bo with a beer on the patio.
Lyrics
[Intro] [Verse 1] Got a cold one in my hand. Patio table, facing Howell Mill Road. The sun is hitting that old brick just right. Rust stains bleeding down from a steel beam someone decided to keep. Everyone walking by looks like they have somewhere important to be. Or at least, somewhere expensive. That five o'clock light, it makes the new glass gleam. Makes the old brick look honest. [Chorus] This whole place used to be something else. From rail cars to bourbon bars. From a loading dock to a statement frock. This is Westside Provisions, holding down the corner, Pouring something smooth over the ghosts of hard work. [Verse 2] They told me this whole warehouse, this was for bananas. Refrigerated cars on a siding for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. Can you picture it? The smell of diesel and green bananas. Now it's the smell of fresh bread from Star Provisions. It's Anne Quatrano's name on the sign since 2010. It's Clifford Harrison's oyster bar just inside. I wonder about the guys who hauled those crates. The ones whose names aren't on any building permits. [Chorus] This whole place used to be something else. From rail cars to bourbon bars. From a loading dock to a statement frock. This is Westside Provisions, holding down the corner, Pouring something smooth over the ghosts of hard work. [Bridge] Sun's dipping behind the water tower now. You can feel the temperature drop. Seventy-eight degrees in the dining room, maybe sixty-two out here on the concrete. It's a good feeling. A clear line between the old heat and the new night. And for a second you can feel both. The shift. The reason you pay a little more for a beer right here. [Outro] Last sip of this beer. A real train whistle moans, somewhere down the tracks. And laughter answers from a table at JCT Kitchen.
