Bop

Bop (2020s) — One syllable, and it's a slur about a person, not a thing. The dodge turned on the dodger. VOLUME: V. THE ALGORITHM, 2000–2025. THE DODGE THIS ERA: ⭐ THE PAYOFF. The censor is no longer a person, a church or a drawing room — it is a MACHINE that does not laugh, cannot be charmed, and never leaves the room. So the evasions get shorter, dumber and faster: initials, misspellings, emoji. Not because anyone got less filthy — because the filter reads faster than we can be clever. The volume must be genuinely funny and quietly devastating. Sing the AVOIDANCE, never the anatomy.

Lyrics

[Intro]
One, two, three, go.

[Verse 1]
The glass eye at the top of the screen never blinks.
It reads every letter you type in the dark.
It has rules for the parlor, it knows what it thinks,
And a four-letter string leaves a permanent mark.
The thumb hovers a millimeter over the glass,
The pulse catching right where the syllable falls.
You can’t say the word, so you give it a pass,
And paint something innocent over the walls.

[Chorus]
Call it a bop.
Three little letters, it’s only a tune.
Something that plays in the back of the room.
A catchy routine that gets stuck in your head,
A popular rhythm, so easily fed
To the scanner that's watching the top of the feed.
The machine loves a melody. That’s all you need.

[Verse 2]
She was out late on Friday, but we don't say where.
We just say she’s a track everybody can play.
A heavy rotation with wind in her hair,
A chart-topping single that goes on for days.
The filter is looking for words it can ban,
Hunting for edges, for teeth, for a fight.
But it misses the joke in the palm of your hand,
And boosts it to millions by Saturday night.

[Bridge]
It’s a masterpiece of compression.
No drawn-out confession, no drawing-room grace.
Just a consonant popping, a tiny expression,
To quietly shatter her place.
It takes zero point eight seconds to clear the review.
The system approves it. It hasn't a clue.

[Outro]
Keep it upbeat.
Keep it so short that it doesn't leave tracks.
The algorithm is dancing.
She can’t take it back.
Just a harmless little hit.
Just a hit.
